In February 2023 pushed to their limit post Covid, the nurses of Manchester’s Christie Hospital came out in protest of their wages. The cost of living under Conservatives had risen greater than their yearly salary raise effectively cutting salaries. I walked past these frontline heroes everyday taking my kids to school and couldn’t help chat to them. They were always in incredibly good sprits even in the February cold.
